Program Highlights
Listed below is a summary of the classroom education and hands-on experience you will receive through the Crozer EMS Training program. Our program, in conjunction with Delaware County Community College (DCCC), is designed expressly to train healthcare professionals to provide vital care at the scene of the emergency. Upon completion of the program, which includes 1,400+ hours of specialized training and supervised clinical and field experience, you will receive a program completion certificate from the EMS Training Institute. In addition, you will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of Paramedics Examination.
What Skills Will be Taught
- 21 months with part-time, twice weekly with alternate weekend classes and clinical rotations
- The curriculum includes instruction in IV therapy, EKG interpretation, defibrillation, intubation and other advanced life support skills
- Clinical rotations include Crozer’s high volume, fast-paced EMS units, Critical Care units, Burn Treatment Center, Pediatrics, Anesthesia, Labor & Delivery and all Crozer HealthEmergency Departments
- Experience with a variety of patients, with the potential to assist with mass casualty incidents, hazardous materials and rescue operations
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) in order to meet entry-level profession requirements
- Upon completion, each student will receive 48 college credits towards an associate’s degree from Delaware County Community College specializing in EMT-Paramedic, Emergency Management or other majors
- Advanced-standing credit transfer agreement with Widener University to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health
- Upon completion of the program, the student will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedics Examination
