Crozer Health Medical Staff Present Crozer Health Emerging Healthcare Professionals Scholarship Awards
The medical staff from Crozer Health recently presented four Delaware County high school seniors with the first annual Crozer Health Emerging Healthcare Professionals Scholarship Award. The scholarships are presented to students who demonstrate leadership and academic excellence with a passion for helping others, and who plan to make healthcare their career.
The scholarship was created as a National Doctor’s Day recognition idea, giving Crozer Health physicians an opportunity to help the next generation prepare for a career helping others.
“The medical staff at Crozer Health are thrilled to present the Crozer Health Emerging Healthcare Professionals Scholarship to these outstanding students who clearly are dedicated to helping others,” said John F. Hiehle Jr., M.D., President of the Crozer Health Medical Staff and Chair Department of Radiology. “We believe it’s important to invest in the next generation of healthcare professionals and we’re grateful for the opportunity to help them take the next step in their careers.”
The scholarship recipients included:
- Hannah Breslin, Springfield High School – Studying Physical Therapy at the University of Scranton
- Khaliyah Campbell, Chester STEM Academy – Studying Nursing at North Carolina Central University
- Jillian McCall, Upper Darby High School (pictured) – Studying Nursing at Neumann University
- Sydney Nguyen, Ridley High School – Studying at the University of Pittsburgh to be a Physician Assistant
Each student received a $1,000 scholarship to be used to further their education. The awards were presented at Crozer Health’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Pa., in front of proud family members and Crozer Health medical staff and leadership.
“I’m proud that our physicians recognize the importance of investing in the youth in our communities and preparing our future healthcare leaders,” said Peter Adamo, CEO of Crozer Health. “We’re excited to see where their futures take them.”
