Crozer Health’s Opioid Treatment Center of Excellence Receives Award at Celebration for Delaware County HealthChoices Program
Crozer Health’s Opioid Treatment Center of Excellence was recognized with an award at a recent event held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Delaware County HealthChoices program.
The Center of Excellence was honored for its work at a June 7 event at the Drexelbrook Catering and Events Center in Drexel Hill to recognize 20 years of success for HealthChoices, a unique partnership between Delaware County Council, the Delaware County Department of Human Services and Magellan Behavioral Health of Pennsylvania (Magellan). In 1997, in response to the statewide adoption of a managed care model of service, Delaware County established a unique publically funded partnership with Magellan to operate the behavioral health managed care HealthChoices program with a vision of increasing access to services, improving the quality of care and containing costs for the county.
Crozer Health’s Opioid Treatment Center of Excellence helps Delaware County residents suffering from opioid use disorder to quickly access the recovery treatment they need. Crozer Health was one of the first 20 centers of its kind created by the grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.
The Center of Excellence provides full-service case management for those struggling with opioid use disorder, removing the most common barriers to treatment. With a commitment to educating the community, staff from the Center of Excellence work to ensure healthcare, education and law enforcement organizations can identify those who need treatment and refer them to the Center.
