Crozer Health Expands Physician Roster for Vascular Surgery

Two new surgeons have joined the Crozer Health physician network’s vascular surgery team.

Mark B. Kahn,M.D.

Mark B. Kahn, M.D. came to Crozer Health from Holy Redeemer Health System, Meadowbrook, Pa. Kahn has performed vascular surgery in Philadelphia-region hospitals since 1990, including Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Albert Einstein Medical Center and Chestnut Hill Hospital, in addition to Holy Redeemer Hospital in Huntingdon Valley, Pa.

He was chief of the division of vascular surgery and interim chair of surgery at Holy Redeemer, and also held multiple leadership positions in endovascular surgery, vascular lab and wound healing.

Kahn graduated from Thomas Jefferson Medical College, and completed residencies at the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He is a distinguished fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery, and past president of the Delaware Valley Vascular Society. Kahn is also widely published.

JohnPaul C. Chizea, M.D.

JohnPaul C. Chizea, M.D. was most recently at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta. Chizea was a fellow in the department of vascular surgery at Emory University Hospital, and completed a residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, after earning his medical degree at Pennsylvania State College of Medicine, Hershey, Pa.

He is a member of the Society of Vascular Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. While at Temple, Chizea was a member of several committees, including surgical care improvement and graduate medical education.

The two surgeons treat issues such as abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, poor leg circulation and venous disease. They are particularly skilled in percutaneous aneurysm repairs, carotid artery surgery and stent placement, limb salvage surgery and hemodialysis access creation and management.

Kahn and Chizea will see vascular surgery patients at their Crozer-Chester Medical Center office in Upland, Pa. and Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill, Pa., as well as offices in Broomall, Pa., Drexel Hill, Pa., and Glen Mills, Pa. They also serve on the multidisciplinary panel of the Crozer Health Center of Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine in Springfield, Pa.
