Crozer Health Guided by Honesty and Integrity
Crozer Health is committed to doing business and providing care in an ethical manner, and recently created a Compliance Champion Award that recognizes employees who ‘do the right thing’ even when no one is looking. This means ethically stepping up even when it may be hard to do. It could involve protecting patients’ privacy, preventing fraud or abuse, or putting into practice Crozer Health’s Mission, policies, and Code of Conduct.
By recognizing and rewarding honesty and integrity, Crozer Health’s Compliance team encourages other employees to prevent and identify potential Compliance or HIPAA-related issues. This new program also enables the Compliance team to positively interact with employees and maintain open lines of communication.
Recent Compliance Champions include:
- Da’Juana (Dee) Harris, Taylor Hospital Patient Care Technician
Dee received a gift from a patient which would have been a violation of the Crozer Health Gifts Policy. Dee immediately notified her manager who assisted in handling the situation in a manner consistent with the Policy.
- Virginia (Ginger) Batchelder and Judy McCullough, Health Information Management Office
Together, Ginger and Judy acted quickly to prevent a possible breach of patient information.
All Compliance Champion Award recipients receive a framed certificate and Crozer Health-branded merchandise at a recognition event that is attended by their manager and colleagues and Compliance office representatives.
