She earned her B.A. in biology from the University of Delaware and her Medical Technology certification at Hackensack University Hospital in NJ. 

Dr. Covington comes to Crozer from Coatesville VA Medical Center where she was privileged to treat veterans and their families suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder in the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. She has worked as a psychiatric director of the Women's Inpatient Addiction Treatment Unit at Eagleville Hospital and was a psychiatrist for the Dual Diagnosis Unit and Detoxification Unit at Eagleville Hospital. 

She was one of the early psychiatrists to be certified in addiction treatment by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
