Laboratory Services
Crozer Health’s full-service hospital laboratories offer the most up-to-date services and technologies, including blood specimen collection and testing.
Our pathologists perform lab tests to help our doctors and specialists diagnose your condition and determine your best treatment plan. We utilize the latest technology to make a difference in diagnosing and providing the best patient care.
Most reference laboratories send a portion of their testing out-of-state, which causes delays in turnaround time and affects the ability to provide individualized service. By processing most lab specimens on site, Crozer Health offers superior turnaround time and enhanced patient care in the physician’s office, rehabilitation center, assisted living facility and long-term care facility.
We have laboratories at convenient locations throughout Delaware County with extended hours Monday through Friday. In addition, many sites are open Saturday morning.
Advanced Cancer Diagnostics
Crozer Health has partnered with NeoGenomics Laboratories, a world leader in specialized oncology testing, to provide the most advanced molecular diagnostics and precision medicine for our cancer patients. With this relationship, our pathologists can perform tumor analysis completely within the health system, allowing faster turnaround times and improved coordination with our oncologists.
“Power Express” Automation System
Crozer Health recently installed the Power Express Automation System at its core laboratory, making it one of the first 10 sites in the United States to offer the technology. Located at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, the system is the first of its kind in Pennsylvania, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, and New York.
The Power Express system streamlines lab operations and patient treatment by automating 70 percent of sample processing steps, integrates all core disciplines to one single point of entry, and provides complete sample traceability through all phases of sample processing.
The core Crozer Health laboratory is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It operates under the medical direction of board-certified pathologists who are available for consultation with your physician.
