Clinical Semester Requirements

  • The following clinical items must be completed by the end of the first semester. Students failing to complete the required items will be given remedial assignments. The student cannot progress onto Semester II clinical until all required items are complete.

    Clinical Objectives one for each room assignment
    Clinical Evaluations  one for each room assignment
    Clinical Logs for each procedure performed by or assisted by the student

    Clinical Logs for each procedure performed by or assisted by the student

  • The following clinical items must be completed by the end of the third semester. Students failing to complete the required items will be given remedial assignments. The student cannot progress onto semester IV until all required items are complete.

    * Failed tests must be repeated before the student can begin the final competency process. In the event the student does not finish before the end of the third semester, they will be placed on a remedial schedule to complete this competency. All incomplete competencies will receive a zero grade. Missed clinical rotations will be made-up after the final rotation in the 4th semester.

    *In the event that a student has not finished their third-semester competencies by these middle of the fourth semester, the student will be placed on clinical probation.

Clinical Grades

  • Students are graded on their clinical performance. Clinical grades are recorded on the student report card at the end of each semester. Students must maintain a minimum grade of 85% for all clinical work.

  • Clinical Evaluation Average, weighted at 15%
    Unit Test Average, weighted at 25%
    Competency Test Average, weighted at 60%

  • Clinical Evaluation Average, weighted at 15%
    Unit Test Average, weighted at 25%
    Competency Test Average, weighted at 60%

  • Clinical Evaluation Average, weighted at 15%
    Unit Test Average, weighted at 25%
    Head 60%

  • Clinical Evaluation Average, weighted at 20%
    Trauma / Live Competency Test Average weighted at 30%
    Film Critique Portfolio Average weighted at 25% (Image Analysis Class)
    Critical Thinking Scenarios weighted at 25%
